We've got this spot on Willow Street where we're putting together a little cluster of local food and retail. The idea is simple: bring together good businesses run by good people in a spot that feels like Chico.
Who's there
The site is home (or will be soon) to a bunch of local spots:
- Other Half — a new cafe
- Dan & Mimi's — bringing more good food to the neighborhood
- Camina — a local favorite bakery expanding into a bigger space with actual customer-facing space they didn't have before (think bakery counter with a little walk-up and some seating)
- Rosemary & Grace — Chef Nate Johnson's prepared meal operation, named after his grandmothers. Grab-and-go veggie burritos, chicken enchiladas, soups — real food made from scratch. You've probably already seen his meals at spots like Stoble and BAPA's.
- Stoble — moving their roasting operations to a building here
- Chico Velo — the bike shop that's been anchoring this corner
The bigger picture
Walkable neighborhoods with local shops and restaurants aren't just nice to have — they're the kind of thing that makes a community actually feel like one. We're trying to build more of that.
