Cultivating ideas and people-powered projects to enable communities to bloom in Chico and beyond.
who we are
A small foundation in Chico, California
Lupine Legacy Foundation is a group of friends and families based right here in Chico. Through an inherited trust, we ended up with more resources than we expected — and instead of sitting on it, we're trying to put it to work in the community we call home.
Our founders moved here in 2010 and started a coffee shop downtown. The rest of the team lives and works right here in Chico. We're focused on arts and recreation, economic revitalization, and housing — the stuff that makes a town actually work for the people who live in it.
things we're working on
Some of our projects
We're not experts at any of this, honestly. But we're learning as we go and working with people who know way more than we do.
Chico Bike Park
Six acres of dirt jumps, pump tracks, and trails for anyone who wants to ride — no experience or fancy gear required.
Wilder
964 acres of conservation land next to Upper Bidwell Park — focused on land stewardship, fire protection, education, and thoughtful public access.
Collier's
Bringing a beautiful 1871 building back to life — performance space upstairs, shops downstairs, good times all around.
Humboldt & Willow
A little collection of local food spots and shops on Willow Street. Not chains — real Chico businesses.
Rent to Own
Renting kind of stinks when you build zero equity. We're trying a different approach — one that actually leads to owning your home.
This is all a work in progress
We're figuring it out as we go. If you're in Chico and have an idea, or you're already doing good work and could use a hand — we'd genuinely love to hear from you.
